CLIVE REED

Clive is 47 years of age and is a full time equestrian coach and horse trainer with 30 years experience. Together with his wife Morya, and staff he operates a successful equestrian business from the Northern Equestrian Centre in Adelaide , South Australia . The NEC is situated on the outskirts of Adelaide , 40 minutes from the city centre and is very accessible via major roadways and is in close proximity to the famous Barossa Valley wine region. The property is run as a training and agistment centre with excellent facilities.

Clive has competed with success in all equestrian disciplines, specialising in Showjumping. He is a sought after rider, employed full time to train and compete on horses for various owners. These owners are residing in different locations of Australia as well as Hong Kong, Singapore and New York. The owners have various ambitions and aspirations for their horses. Some would like to see their horses compete at the highest level such as the Olympic Games and others would just like to add value to their horse and sell for a profit.

In 1997 Clive was invited to Europe to train and compete with Heiner Engemann and Haulke Luther in Germany . Clive says "It was a tremendous experience from which I gained a great deal of knowledge. During my stay in Germany I had considerable success with a win, a second place, and three other minor placings from only 4 starts. My fellow competitors were amongst the leading showjumping riders in the world."

As an Equestrian Federation of Australia (EFA) qualified coach, Clive is in great demand for private coaching in all equestrian disciplines. He has been contracted by the EFA on many occasions for clinics and schools and is one of the few accredited coaches used for the SA Young Rider Scholarship and SA Junior Development Program in the area of Showjumping.

Clive regularly coaches overseas and is currently the National Coach for Singapore.

Since specialising in Showjumping for the past 25 years, Clive has produced some remarkable performances since the mid 1980's winning many "Championship" events. He has had numerous wins and placings at World Cup Shows, Royal Shows and Australian Championships as well as placings in World Cup Qualifiers on two different horses.

At this time Clive successfully competes with a team of showjumping horses and is currently a member of the SA State Showjumping Squad with Kinnordy Serena.

Clive has had great success in the 2006/2007 showjumping season. Kinnordy Serena won four Grand Prix classes in her first season of competing at this level. Janiels Encore (owned by the Cronin family in New York) won the Young Horse "Novice Circuit Class" for the season.

We look forward to a successful 2007/2008 season!
